This hotel is the king and queen of hotels in Barcelona, it's simply exquisite.
Hotel Casa Fuster isn't just classified as a five star, it's classified as a five star Deluxe Monument... the difference being the hotel was designed and built by the world-famous architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner in 1908, and is of great importance to the architectural story of Barcelona, thus the "Deluxe Monument" accolade. That said the term "Deluxe" isn't lost on the quality of the accommodation either.
When Hotel Casa Fuster was bought by its owners, "Hoteles Center" in 2000 they undertook a painstaking refurbishment of the building, respecting and enhancing its interior design, which echoes the Barcelonean modernist style of the early 20th century.
Hotel Casa Fuster stands dominant at the top of the city's most impressive boulevard, "Passeig De Gràcia", with a commanding view down the length of the treelined street to Placa Catalunya. It is the only building in Passeig de Gràcia that provides a marvellous panoramic view not only of the entire street, but also of the whole city.
The rooms are beautifully finished, with apartments and mini studios available to those with such a requirement. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and the quality of the cuisine is first-rate.
Downstairs in the bar (or Cafe Viennese as the hotel calls it), which boasts red velvet seating, it's possible to enjoy swing sessions on Sunday nights, which relaxing as the streetscene unfurls outside the window.
Hotel Casa Fuster really is an experience just waiting to happen, highly recommended.
In the area, for enjoying a meal outside the hotel, we recommend Hofmann, Hisop and Coure.
